چکیده

ABSTRACT In this paper, we have used SAS software for the multivariate analysis of repeated measures data due to Grizzel and Allen (1969). We have applied four multivariate methods viz MANOVA, Profile Analysis, non-parametric multisample rank sum test and non-parametric multisample median test to analyse two sets of data. The findings of the study reveal that profile analysis gives similar results as revealed by MANOVA, except in case of Pillai’s trace and Hotelling-Lowley’s trace statistics where time*group effects were found insignificant. Nonparametric analysis of the same data revealed different conclusions.

Discriminant Analysis for Repeated Measures Data: A Review

Discriminant analysis (DA) encompasses procedures for classifying observations into groups (i.e., predictive discriminative analysis) and describing the relative importance of variables for distinguishing amongst groups (i.e., descriptive discriminative analysis). In recent years, a number of developments have occurred in DA procedures for the analysis of data from repeated measures designs. Sp...

Running head: REPEATED MEASURES Analyzing Repeated Measures Designs Using Univariate and Multivariate Methods: A Primer

The present paper presents similarities and differences between the univariate and the multivariate analysis of repeated measures designs. Both methods are illustrated by means of an example. When the data are analyzed using the univariate approach and the homogeneity assumption is violated, three correcting factors are presented. When the data are analyzed using the multivariate approach, the ...

A Comparison of Data Analysis Strategies for Testing Omnibus Effects in Higher-Order Repeated Measures Designs.

Methods for analyzing repeated measures data, in addition to the conventional and corrected degrees of freedom univariate and multivariate solutions, are presented in this review. These "newer" methods offer researchers either improved control over Type I errors and/or greater power to detect treatment effects when (a) certain assumptions are violated, and/or (b) missing data exists. In particu...

Move over ANOVA: progress in analyzing repeated-measures data and its reflection in papers published in the Archives of General Psychiatry.

BACKGROUND The analysis of repeated-measures data presents challenges to investigators and is a topic for ongoing discussion in the Archives of General Psychiatry. Traditional methods of statistical analysis (end-point analysis and univariate and multivariate repeated-measures analysis of variance [rANOVA and rMANOVA, respectively]) have known disadvantages. More sophisticated mixed-effects mod...
